Post-update problems

As is usual after software upgrades, we experience little glitches for a day or two afterwards. We fix them as fast as we can and apprecitate it when you let us know if you find any.

For a while posts were only visible in the Edit view, not on your public blog, but that seems to be sorted out.

Some people's blog display a cryptic error message "gzuncompress" in the header section.

On some blogs, not all, the tags menu and/or the tags that appear below your posts are not displaying consistently.

There is still a problem with the system not recognizing a logged-in user when attempting to view or comment on a private blog. The same occasionally happens when commenting on a blog -- the comment section reads "unlogged visitor" as opposed to your logged-in username.

Those are the problems that I am aware of, and they are being looked at right now. I hope to have them fixed within 24 hours. Please leave comments with any other bugs or glitches that you find. Thanks for your patience (or just plain sorry if you've already lost it). :)

I don't know if this pertains to the software upgrade or if it's a problem on my end, but on my blog the "Loading" button keeps 'running', and when I try to post and publish, it says "The post is empty". This has been going on for a week or so.

I did clear my cache, but it didn't work. Don't know what else to do.

Hey there athenawj,

This is a nagging problem that happens, butonly in some browsers, sometimes, for some people. As such it has been very difficult to understand and solve. I'm sorry about this and trying to figure it out. You can help by telling me your operating system, browser and type of internet connection. OK?

ANYWAY, emptying your cache with any Mo'time windows open, for instance won't do the trick.

Read this comment (click here) in ascending order of complexity. By the end it should be fine. If not, there is even one more thing to try. Let me know.

Hi howard, thanks for getting back to me. I'm using Windows 2000, IE 5.50, and have a HSI connection.

I followed the link you provided and followed all the steps, but nothing's working. I could actually see what I'd typed in preview mode, but not after post and publish.

You should probably upgrade to IE 6.0. Is that a possibility for you? And make sure that your version of WIndows is updated with latest Java; visit microsoft.com to make sure.

So the "loading" icon went away? You saw your post in Preview, and it didn't post?

Could you try again now?

You really should do the upgrades. Once you've upgraded, try again. And then do the fixes if the problem persists.

Meanwhile, I'll see if I can find anything else for you to try.

HSI? is that a service provider? Are you on a dialup modem, cable modem, DSL? other?

Sorry, it's high speed internet.

We can't download any program at the moment. As soon as my husband fixes it, I'll try again. May be that that's all it takes.

I tried again earlier, with the same results-- could see the post in Preview, but not after post and publish.

hi h,

a coupla days ago my counter decided to not count anymore it just reads visited *loading* times

i've tried quitting and resetting the cache, and using other browsers but no go. I'm using mac safari 10.3.6. any ideas?
